SENTA Provides Physician With the Opportunity to Delegate Effectively
Since Robert Puchalski, MD, FAAOA, founded South Carolina ENT, Allergy & Sleep Medicine (SCENT) two decades ago, he has seen other practices succeed, fail and remain stagnant with no growth.

To ensure continued growth for SCENT, the practice joined SENTA in May 2022 to help delegate the administrative duties of 10 practice locations with nine board-certified physicians and four accredited sleep labs. Dr. Puchalski is also the South Carolina representative to the American Academy of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery Board of Governors, a delegate to the American Medical Association representing the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy (AAOA) and a member of the ENTPAC and AAOA Boards. It’s safe to say he is a busy man.
Since joining SENTA, Dr. Puchalski says several tasks have been taken off his overflowing plate. “I receive help with administrative work, which gives me more time on my weekends,” Dr. Puchalski says with a smile. SCENT also receives marketing, software and recruitment support from SENTA representatives, whom Dr. Puchalski says have been “top notch.” SENTA partners can receive a range of assistance, from finance and advertising to onboarding programs and continued education support, while never sacrificing the patient experience.
“The health care landscape is changing quickly, and you have to keep up,” Dr. Puchalski says. “SENTA has been keeping up successfully. The value proposition was very strong with SENTA.”
He also uses his extra time to do more with his boards and his real estate endeavors, including the progress of a 20,000-square-foot flagship office and ambulatory surgery center that should be open by the end of the year.
“This partnership represents a new horizon for us,” he says. “It is so reassuring and comforting to have such a strong and diverse management team in our corner.”
MD Finds Support and Camaraderie at SENTA
During his fellowship year at Christiana Care Health System in Newark, Delaware, otolaryngologist Joseph Sciarrino, MD, FAAOA, had time to consider the type of work environment in which he wanted to start his career: the size, scope, support and atmosphere. He found what he was looking for at South Carolina ENT Allergy & Sleep Medicine (SCENT), but since the practice joined SENTA in May 2022, the already-positive aspects have only been strengthened.

“The practice has seen geographical growth,” Dr. Sciarrino says, as it has added locations and hired more physicians since joining SENTA. “With the increased staff and support, we are able to provide efficient, high-level care to more patients.”
SENTA adds a sense of camaraderie, Dr. Sciarrino says. “Work culture is paramount. I know people I graduated with who are on their second or third job. When you get along well with people and have a support structure, the patients get better care and the providers are happier.” His advice is that new graduates or those looking for change should do their due diligence before they join a practice; it’s better for the candidate’s happiness and success in the long run—and it’s not helpful to patients to land in a position where the physician feels stuck and wants to get out.
“Make sure you join a workplace that has the same vision as you. Focus on growth and find a place that has a need for you, like SENTA,” he says.
“The communication with SENTA has been great,” Dr. Sciarrino says. He and his team have a standing bi-weekly phone call with SENTA support. “SENTA makes it a point to address any frustrations or inefficiencies immediately,” he says, even though he says those do not occur often. “SENTA wants to make the practice a better place to work.”
Dr. Sciarrino says he and his team feel confident that they can give their patients the best care while still making their day as efficient as possible with SENTA’s commitment to the latest in technology and equipment. They have access to business support and management, including marketing, team management and daily operation assistance.
Dr. Sciarrino has found a place that supports his goals and gives him the resources to achieve them at SENTA. He continues to develop his knowledge and network, and he doesn’t plan on going anywhere.
